It's Bigger Than Fashion.
It's bigger than fashion was founded by fashion designer Avnah Long. Not only does she own the fashion brand AVNAH but she realized the importance of doing something bigger with the brand for the youth to positively enrich their lives. She created It's Bigger Than Fashion which merges fashion and philanthropy to help at risk youth. This movement changes lives through fashion, mentoring, motivational speaking and increasing trade skill awareness with at risk youth and communities worldwide. We have produced fashion shows to raise money for scholarship funds and launch yearly resource drives to high schools and HBCU's. We have also teamed up with the Boys and Girls Club through volunteer, mentorship and teaching sewing classes. Through AVNAH and It's Bigger than Fashion they have been blessed to team up with some amazing organizations to broaden the positive reach through fashion including participating in fashion shows to stop sex trafficking through CCG and Street Grace. Fashion and philanthropy is the way we are making an impact and changing lives. Thank you to those who have donated to It's Bigger Than Fashion! We have been able to purchase kits for the youth in our class, provide fabric and notion's to help construct craft projects or garments, and buy sewing machine for the class to utilize during hands on instruction. Our goal to purchase as many sewing machines as possible for hands on instruction is still a process as some students share machines. We appreciate your support as we continue to teach and positively impact communities worldwide.
